Cruising on the Huon River, Huon Valley, Tasmania
A white-bellied sea eagle surveys the rapids of the Huon.

Our Story

The Huon Jet is a must-do white water experience on the Huon River in Tasmania, having been in operation in the majestic Huon Valley for 35 years.

The River

The Huon River is the lifeblood of the Huon Valley. To the Mellukerdee people who lived here for a thousand generations before European’s arrived, the river was known as Taloone.
The river has many moods, varying from a gentle flow to a raging torrent and on any given day conditions across the river vary from its head at Scotts Peak Dam to it’s mouth in the D’Entrecasteaux Channel.
A cruise on the Huon River is the best way for you to take in this important waterway and we bring you the sight-seeing with extra thrill!
We begin our trip in a tidal area in Huonville and then ascend through gentle rapids and tranquil basins.

Our Boats

Our locally-built, custom Jet Boats are made for conditions on the Huon River. Each one powered by a 5.7 litre V8 Chev engine, driving a Hamilton Jet and can operate in as little as 100ml of water. Well equipped to handle the changing river heights and flows across all four of our ever-changeable Tasmanian seasons!
